Tennis four Grand Slam name with brief Description important for exams like SSC, PO, LIC, Insurance etc.

In TENNIS the four Grand Slam are the most important tennis events.The chronological order of the grand slam is as follows:
Australian open is the first event to be held in mid January followed by the French open in May/June, Wimbledon in June/July and the US open in August/September.

Australian Open is the first of the four Grand Slam tennis event of the year, held in Melbourne Australia. The first Australian open held in 1905. Since 1988 the tournament has been played on Hard Courts.

French Open is chronologically the second Grand Slam event of the year, held in Paris, France. It was first held in 1891. It is played on Clay Court.

Wimbledon is the oldest tennis tournament in the world held  in London, England every year, since 1877. It is played on Grass court.

US Open is chronologically the last Grand slam tournament of the year. It is a Hard Court tennis tournament played at New York City, New York, United States. It was first played in 1881.
