Seven Summits : Highest mountain peaks of the seven continents with country name important for all the competitive exams including UPSC, SSC, PO, Insurance etc.

The seven summits are the highest peaks of the seven continents.

Mount Everest(Asia) is the highest peak in the world lies on the border between Nepal and the Tibet autonomous region of China. It is 8848 m above sea level in the Great Himalayas mountain range.

Mount Aconcagua(South America) is the highest peak outside Asia. It is the highest peak in South America in Argentina. It is 6961 m above sea level in the Andes mountain range .

Mount McKinley(North America) is the third highest peak in the world and the highest in North America. It is located in the Alaska Range in US and it's height is 6194 m above sea level.

Mount Kilimanjaro(Africa) is the highest mountain peak in Africa. It is a large strato volcano and lies in Tanzania in Africa. It is 5895 m above sea level.

Mount Elbrus(Europe) is the highest mountain peak in Europe. It lies in the Caucasus mountain range in Russia and it's height is 5642 m above sea level.

Vinson Massif(Antarctica) is the highest peak in Antarctica and lying in the Sentinel range. It's height is 4892 m above sea level.

Puncak Jaya(Australia) is the highest peak in Australia continent in the Sudirman range in Indonesia. It is 4884 m above the sea level.

Note: Do not confuse Mount Kosciuszko with Puncak Jaya. Mount Kosciuszko(2228 m) is the highest peak in Australia(country) and Puncak Jaya is the highest peak in Australia continent.
